Friendswood is the only permanent Texas town that started as a Quaker colony. Families settled here in 1895, rebuilt after the 1900 Storm, and spent the next 40 years growing Magnolia figs before the town turned into the tree-lined suburb it is today. A lot of those trees are still here, and so is the water. Clear Creek, Cowart Creek and Chigger Creek wind through town, and about 3,000 Friendswood homes took water during Harvey.

Mature trees, creeks and Gulf Coast humidity are exactly what termites, rats and mosquitoes look for. Friendswood also has a wide range of home ages, from late-1960s sections of Annalea to Sterling Creek and Friendswood Trails, which are still being built. Coastal serves Friendswood from our La Porte office, and every visit starts with a look at what is actually getting into your home.

WHAT WE OFFER

Pest Control Services for Friendswood Homes & Businesses

Termite Control in Friendswood

Formosan termites are documented in both Galveston and Harris counties, and they do not just eat houses. They attack living trees, including oaks. Coastal has worked with Texas A&M on Formosan termite treatment research, and we bring that experience to every Friendswood inspection. Depending on your home, we use a liquid soil barrier around the foundation or a bait station system that we check on a schedule.

Rat & Mouse Control

Mature trees hanging over the roofline give roof rats a straight path into Friendswood attics. Older homes in Forest Bend and the original neighborhoods along FM 2351 often have a few gaps around soffits and vents after decades of weather. We find the entry points, remove the rodents, and close the openings.

Mosquito Control

On July 9, 2026, the Galveston County Health District confirmed its first West Nile positive mosquito sample of the year in Friendswood, near the Brazoria County line. Galveston County Mosquito Control sprays public roads but does not treat private property. Coastal can treat your yard's shaded areas, fence lines and drainage spots.

Ant, Roach & Silverfish Control

Our quarterly plan covers the interior and the exterior foundation line for ants, roaches, silverfish and spiders. Many Coastal customers have been on it for decades.

Fire Ant Management

Fire ants follow water. After a heavy rain along Clear Creek, mounds show up in yards, ball fields at Centennial Park, and along sidewalks. We treat individual mounds or whole properties.

Real Estate Termite Inspections (WDI)

Friendswood homes sell for a median of about $420,000, and most buyers want a clean termite report. We provide WDI reports for buyers, sellers and agents.

Tent Fumigation

Drywood termites in the walls, attic or furniture call for a whole-structure treatment. We handle tent fumigation from prep to clearance.

Commercial Pest Control

Offices, restaurants and shops along FM 518 and FM 528 can get scheduled service built around business hours.

We have had a great experience with this company for a couple of years. The young man they sent out this round (Andrew, 22) was such a gentleman (which is rare these days). He asked if I needed help with something in my front yard and helped me all on his own. Great job to his parents for raising him that way and awesome for this company to hire him, hope they keep him around for a very long time.

My husband and I have been using Coastal for 10+ years. Justin came today and he’s been to our house before. Justin is very nice and professional. I told him we’re having a sugar ant problem and a gnat problem and he searched and showed me how/where the bugs are getting inside the house. He was very informative.

Justin went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met and our problems were solved! Not only did he follow up with us weekly until things were under control, he was always on time and he did really thorough work! He also provided us tips on how to manage things in between visits. Coastal Exterminating Co is a good company, but Justin is by far the best!

Justin just serviced our new house. He was great. We have used Coastal for our business for at least 30 years. We had used them for our previous home but our last home had a Taexx System & sadly they did not service that system so we had to change to another company😩. We are very happy to be back with Coastal for our home.

Pest Control on Both Sides of Clear Creek

Clear Creek does more than split Friendswood between Galveston and Harris counties and between Friendswood ISD and Clear Creek ISD. It also shapes the pest problems we see.

Along the creek. Neighborhoods near Clear Creek and Cowart Creek, including parts of Forest Bend, Annalea and the areas around Imperial Estates, deal with the most flooding. When the creek rises, fire ants raft, rodents move to higher ground, and mosquitoes boom a few weeks after the water drops. The county’s 33-acre detention project at Imperial Estates helps with flooding, but it is still standing water.

The established neighborhoods. Wedgewood Village, Heritage Park, Sun Meadow, Falcon Ridge Estates and Friendswood Oaks were built from the 1960s through the 1990s. Big trees, older rooflines and decades-old termite pretreatments make roof rats and subterranean termites the main concerns.

The newer builds. West Ranch, Autumn Lakes, Sterling Creek and Friendswood Trails have newer slabs and young lawns. Fire ants and mosquitoes from retention ponds come first. Termites come later, when the original pretreatment wears off.

Even Polly Ranch Estates, where some residents have a runway for a backyard, gets the same pressure. Hangars and shops are favorite spots for rodents and wasps.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pests are most common in Friendswood?

Fire ants, roaches, roof rats, subterranean termites and mosquitoes. Friendswood’s creeks, mature trees and humidity keep all five active for most of the year.

No. Galveston County Mosquito Control treats public roads by truck and does larviciding, but it does not spray private roads or property. For your yard, you need a private treatment.

It is worth an inspection. Floodwater can wash away or dilute soil treatments around the foundation, and wet wood is more attractive to termites. If your home had water, have the termite protection checked.

Scratching or running sounds at night, droppings in the attic or garage, and chewed wiring or insulation are the common signs. Branches touching the roof are often how they get up there.

It depends on the size of the home and the type of service. Most customers start with quarterly pest control. Termite treatment is quoted after a free inspection, and we explain both the liquid and bait station options.

Yes. We serve every Friendswood neighborhood, including Wedgewood Village and the other Clear Creek ISD areas north of the creek.

We use EPA-registered products applied by licensed technicians, and we tell you how long to keep kids and pets off treated areas.

Yes. Depending on how far they have spread, we use spot treatment or whole-structure tent fumigation.
